Rensing leads Bayern to Audi Cup victory

Jonathan Roorda - 30 July 2009 23:01

Michael Rensing parried two United penalties

Bayern Munich have won the inaugural edition of the Audi Cup, beating Manchester United on penalties after a goalless 90 minutes.

Both sides hit the woodwork in regular time. A shot from Mario Gomez bounced off the crossbar and an overhead kick from Dimitar Berbatov came back from the left post.

In the penalty shoot-out, Rensing made two saves while Van der Sar blocked only one, as Bayern clinched the trophy.

Earlier on Thursday, Boca Juniors were the better side in a shoot-out with AC Milan to take third place at the friendly tournament in Munich.

EtV, not the smartest joke I've ever heard but good enough. I believe "this other team" is from England!

Like Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson said that he currently possesses the best defence he has ever had at the club. The problem was the attack this time , they were too shy tonight to show comparing to the first friendly games .
